Who Are We?
				The purpose and mission of this congregation is TO GIVE LIFE TO THE GOSPEL OF JESUS, THE CHRIST and TO PROCLAIM HIS GOSPEL to our neighbors, our nation and the world, through our words and deeds. We will STRENGTHEN ONE ANOTHER for ministry as we affirm the importance of Christian worship, education, fellowship, mission, and ministering to human needs under the guidance and empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
			Community Baptist Church is a member of the American Baptist Convention. Our present congregation ranges from the very young to the more mature, and there is something for everyone at Community Baptist Church! Community Baptist Church was founded in September, 1952, as an offspring of the Central Baptist Church in Hartford. The first worship service was held on September 14 of that year, with 108 adults and 51 youngsters attending. In September 2002 a 50th Anniversary Banquet was held in celebration, and thirteen founding members of the church were present at the ceremony. What a blessing! We continue to seek the Lord and follow Him and look forward to what He has in store for us.
